Diet and stress

In this review, Gonzalez & Miranda-Massari (2014) explains how higher levels of stress follows unhealthy dietary habits, which results in greater and greater health problems over time as the issues remain unresolved. Prolonged stress can enhance the body’s metabolic needs, leading to increased nutrient use and excretion. This can then result in nutrient deficiency, which is worsened further by stress. In this way, diet and stress can have detrimental consequences on human health. [NPID: stress, metabolism, nutrient deficiency]
